I am still Alive

Ok so I thought that I better update this otherwise people would think that I have dissappered somewhere....lol

OK so after Veteran Camp back in July we headed of to Hong Kong to prepare for the Beijing camp in about 2 weeks time. We helped out at a camp where we got to meet people who we would be working with in Bejing aswell. It was a good few weeks the first camp and I found China to be really hot especially when I played football. The camp was a Christian camp and we all had a wonderful time. I was helping out on Transport and telling people how to get around Hong Kong which was a laugh cause sometimes even I got lost. Well from Hong Kong we flew to Beijing where the Big Camp was going to happen.

We arrived a few days earlier so that we could get ready and get our teaching stuff ready aswell. The camp started on a monday and we had about 300 kids coming all ranging from 12-19 years old. This was a large number of kids that I had ever seen in a long time but it was really good fun. I was a group leader with another girl who was my translator aswell. We got on really well and had a few good laughs as she couldn't understand me that much...

I shared a room with the 4 guys who were going to be in my life group for the 2 week period and I got on really well with them. 2 of them were from Hong Kong and the other 2 were from Mainland China. They were alot of fun and we had some funny times. There were also 5 girls in my group aswell. We all had a laugh and they all really enjoyed me been there group leader. There ages ranged from 16-19 yrs old.

Well in the mornings of the camp we did games and different stations with the kids where they could go and do other things. I helped out on the Football station with 2 egyptian guys who were a laugh. I played alot of football ranging from 2-4 hrs aday so I did loose quite abit of weight aswell...yeah .

Then in the afternoons I had a class of about 25 kids which i tought a course that i did called "Heroes" this was a fun course to teach but the kids where very quite about responding but i got them to talk in the end with some persuasion ( being Coke Cola).

We took the kids in the second week to The Great Wall of China which was such a brill day. It was a hard walk up to the top aswell. Also we took them to do some work at an eldery peoples home. Where they did some dances and just talking to the old people who really enjoyed it and it was such an emotional day for when u sat there with the old people who never see their children and they loved wot we did for them....It was a very emotional day then.

We also did an Olympic Day for an orphange in the city and the kids came and we set it all up for them. They loved the day and it was a blast all day.

For Debrief we stayed in Bejing and got to go and see all the attractions been 'Tidamin Square, Forbidden Palace places like that'. We did some shopping aswell and I really enjoyed the bartering cause i found out that I was really good at it...hehe.

Anyway I came back from China and had 2 weeks Holiday out in Eastern Alberta at a friends until I came home. It was a fun time and I got to get myself a nice tan.

So since I have been home I am working back at Rohan with my old job which is great, and I am helping out at my church with Sunday School in the mornings with the young kids and at my mums youth program called Dreamscheme.

Thats all I got for now sorry for been late doing this

Hey guys well the last week I have been up in Veteran in Alberta doing a camp with my school PCYM. We had about 100 kids there from the ages of 6-12. It was absolutley amazing week and God did so much work there. I prayed for one of the older boys one evening which was really cool. We had so much fun I was in charge of doing tech and games. So as usual I nearlly lost my voice from shouting so much.
It was an amazing time I had a God blessed me so much with everything that happened there. The kids where amazing in worship times, they were ok at first but soon got better and we had some cool times at night worship. I have never seen so many kids on sugar as I have this week, also some of them drink coffee aswell which was bad. The counsalors who were staying in the cabins with the kids were so good and were such a blessing to us. We all had so much fun. It was a hot week aswell so I got sunburnt twice (I know I never put on sun screen). But I am going brown now.

Anyway in the next 3 days I go to China for 3-4 weeks to do 2 camps there. I am teaching on the second camp in Beijing where there will be 350 kids. It's really cool as I get my own class of kids to teach.

Anyway I need prayer for whilist I am there that I can be an example to those kids without saying anything about Christianity, and one of our team members doesn't have enough money to go so we need prayer for that.
And the usual health etc etc.....as it is going to be 40 degrees celcius (with humidity on top of that).

Last thing I will be in Vancouver after the school in mid august if you guys in seattle want to come and see me.

Peace

Hey guys long time no speak,
Well I have done the NIKO and I recommend you all to do it. I am not allowed to say what it is but I will say that if u liked to be challenged mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually I say do this course. Its a short course and is so much fun. I was so challenged by God on this course in a few areas of my life. I loved doing this course and it was completely what i wasn't expecting.
Other than that we have been doing teachings and so far we have done Counseling and Human Development which was an amazing week. God moved in the school so much and we got to see things in our past that we never thought we had. We all had a good cry and it was such a good week.
Well what am I up to in the next couple of months until the school finishes. We are going to Hobbema next week which is a native reserve, where we will be doing some kids work. Then we have veteran camp where we will be staffing and helping out. Then after all that including major assingment and one more book report, we will be eventually be going to China on 11th July. We are doing two camps there one in Hong Kong where we are participants and then one in Beijing where there are going to be 400-500 kids. This is the scariest thing i have done with that many kids. It will entail 200-250 western kids and 200-250 Chinese kids.
Well other than that if anyone wants my prayer letter please leave a message and I will send one to you asap.
Last thing I fell of a bike yesterday, so I am really sore all over my wrists are bad and so is my hip and left arm.
Speak soon

hello people

Hey guys how is everyone doing? I am really busy doing stuff with the school. We are all getting ready for our trip to china in July because we will be working on 2 camps one camp we will be in as it is a leadership camp, the next camp we will be working on and there is roughly going to be 500 kids. It is abit daunting but we all know that we will be ok.

Other than that this next week coming I will be doing a camping trip which builds character and leadership skills. The course is called NIKO then we will be doing a Outdoor Leadership Course aswell afterwards. I am looking forward to it as it will be really cool.

Speak to you all soon and anyone going to be in Calgary area please contact me as it will be really cool to see people.
